PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Kirby delivered the construction, electrical install and energisation on the 38kV substation at Scartaglen Windfarm.

Kirby was responsible for the installation of the AIS equipment, control and protection panels, MV switchgear, cable connection between substation components and the termination of cabling within the substation. Kirby was also responsible for the MV cable jointing, the installation of the substation transformer and its connection to AIS and the installation of the house transformer and NER. Kirby also carried out Pre-commissioning and IPP commissioning on the substation.

Installed plant items included 2 number of distribution boards, 15 number of control and protection panels, 2 number of battery systems, 1 number of transformer, 1 number of AIS switchgear, 1 number of NER and 1 number of house transformer. The total project meterage consisted of 32,500m of cable.
