Zero Harm is the vision that guides all our operations and activities undertaken by Kirby. It is our commitment to continually strive to reach the highest standards in Health and Safety, minimise our impact on the environment, and work co-operatively with our people and host communities.

Our dedicated Inspection and Testing Department ensures that finished products are defect-free; of the highest quality; conform to all standards and regulations; and meet or exceed our clients’ expectations.

Certifications & Accreditations

ISO 9001:2015

Kirby were one of the first construction-related companies to receive ISO 9001 accreditation. Today we hold ISO 9001:2015 accreditation across all services and geographic regions, including electrical, mechanical, power, calibrations and communications.

ISO 27001:2017

Kirby hold ISO 27001: 2017 accreditation.

Achilles UVDB Verify

In 2008, Kirby secured Achilles UVDB registration.

Kirby also hold Achilles RISQS, Achilles Sellihca (Nordic Utilities), Achilles Power & Tech Community and Achilles Supply Line certification for supply-chain procurement.

Lloyd’s Register

Kirby has been accepted onto the Lloyds National Electricity Registration Scheme in the UK as a Utility Connection Provider for contestable works up to 132kV.

ASQ, USA

Kirby are members of the American Society of Quality since 2012.

SEK, Elsäkerhetsverket

Kirby has been accepted onto the Swedish National Electricity Registration Scheme as a certified Electrical Company for works up to 1kV.

SETI, Finland

Kirby are members of SETI since 2018.

SIK, Denmark

Kirby are certified members of the Danish Safety Technology Authority since 2018.

ATEX Certification

Kirby have +20Nr. CompEx certified Atex Inspectors in-house, whom can perform Atex Inspections to the current Atex Directive 2014/34/EU.

ESTI, Switzerland

Kirby are certified members of ESTI since 2020.

Health & Wellbeing

Kirby’s vision for Health & Wellbeing is to have a workforce that is safe, healthy, resilient, and engaged. We implement Health and Wellbeing programs to implement a cross functional Holistic strategy through feedback, communication and applying opportunities for improvements.

We have teams of trained First Aiders and Mental Health First Aiders throughout the organisation to support our workers.

A Health and Wellbeing committee is in place which identifies the needs of staff and prioritises areas for improvement. The purpose of the committee is to assess, plan and implement strategy that will support staff to be more aware and motivated to enhance their health and wellness. Their role is also to help build a workplace environment that is supportive of living a healthy lifestyle (mental, physical, social) e.g., helping to make the healthier choice the easier choice.

Information Security Management

At Kirby, Information Security is about protecting our ICT systems, end users and clients’ managed data – on a continual basis. We aim to promote cyber-security best practices through responsible accessing of incoming data sets, emails, software applications, and by providing a secure Information Technology working platform for our staff and end users.

Kirby understand the need to protect our offices and project data from unwanted cyber and information security risks, through ongoing software implementation and upgrades. Kirby has successfully achieved the ISO 27001:2017 – Information Security Management System certification across our entire business.
