PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Kirby was awarded the BoP contract to facilitate the substation extension of two new 132kV transformers and diversion of the 33kV cable system at Dunbar Substation.

Works included the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of electrical services associated with the energisation of the transformers and plant equipment.

SCOPE OF WORK

Kirby were responsible for the electrical scope of works:

• Primary Equipment Transmission Connection
• Primary Equipment Distribution Connection
• Earthing & Bonding
• Control & Protection System
• MV Cable Connection System
• Fibre Network
• OHL
• Transmission Underground Cables
• DC Battery Systems
• SCADA

Installed plant items included 1 no. distribution boards, 6 no. control & panel protection panels, 2 no. transformers and AIS switchgear including disconnectors, earth switch, surge arrestor, CT’s, CVT’s and busbars.
The total project meterage included 12,650m of cable and 590 no. joint/ terminations.
