PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Kirby was responsible for the design and build contract for a new 38kV substation and grid connection for a medical device client at their new manufacturing facility in County Galway, Ireland.
Kirby was responsible for the electrical and civil scopes of work associated with the MV Building, including the switch room and control room, as well as the AIS yard, which comprised two transformers and associated AIS equipment. In addition, Kirby carried out the civil and general services works for the ESB 38kV building.
The project also involved the supply and installation of outgoing cables to the diesel generators and the installation of the MV switchboards in both the customer substation and main facility buildings.
Kirby utilised advanced, digital engineering technologies to coordinate and model the full civil and electrical services on the project. Kirby also undertook the role of PSCS, selected and procured the HV and MV plant for the project as well as undertaking all customer HV and MV commissioning on the project.
