Kirby Signs Sponsorship Deal with ATU Sport Galway GAA Clubs

Kirby has signed a sponsorship deal with Atlantic Technological University’s (ATU) Sport Galway GAA clubs.

The three-year agreement will see the company sponsor nine teams across the university’s hurling, camogie, men’s, and ladies’ football codes. ATU Galway’s GAA clubs have approximately 300 players and 400 additional members signed up for the 2025/2026 academic year.

The news marks ATU Sport Galway’s first sports corporate partnership for its Galway teams, and Kirby’s third significant sporting sponsorship in Ireland, following the deals agreed in recent years with Galway Camogie and University of Limerick GAA. The company is committed to playing its part in local communities wherever it has a presence and has built a diverse range of partnerships across Ireland, the UK, Sweden, Italy, and South Africa.

Group Operations Director at Kirby Group Engineering, Mikey Ryan says this is a very positive development:

“At Kirby, ‘People’ is our number one core value, and we know that being part of a team or club can foster lifelong friendships and support networks, as well as bringing physical and mental health benefits. GAA clubs have a unique presence in Irish life, and we’re thrilled to support the ATU Sport Galway squads. We’re looking forward to seeing them go from strength to strength in the years ahead”.

President of Atlantic Technological University, Dr Orla Flynn, welcomed Kirby to the team:

“This is a fantastic partnership for our GAA clubs at our Galway campus, both male and female. Having the support of a strong Irish company – a major employer in the area – is a vote of confidence in what our own leaders are building at ATU, and aligned with our aspiration of retaining talent in the region. I’m delighted to welcome Kirby onboard!”

Sports Development Officer at ATU Galway, Molly Dunne, explains what this means to players:

“We are delighted to have Kirby as proud sponsors of ATU Galway GAA. Their generous support is an investment in our students, helping us to provide opportunities both on and off the field. With their backing, we can continue to grow our teams, nurture talent, and ensure our players have the best chance to succeed while representing the university.”
