Kirby apprentice awarded Department of Education and Skills Medal

Brendan Muldowney, an apprentice at Kirby, received a Silver Medal Award from the Minister for Education and Skills, Richard Bruton TD at an award ceremony in Croke Park recently.  The coveted Department of Education and Skills silver medal is awarded to the top young apprentices in the country.

Brendan received the medal as a result of his success at the 2016 IrelandSkills National Champion where he was crowned national champion in industrial control.  Following this, Brendan went on to represent Ireland in industrial control at the 2017 WorldSkills Competition which took place in Abu Dhabi in October last.

The talented apprentice was also crowned Apprentice of the Year in Industrial Control at the Annual EIFI Electrical Industry Awards which took place in September last year.
