1964
Tom and Michael Kirby establish Kirby Electrical in Limerick, Ireland.
1990
Opened its Dublin office transforming Kirby from a local to a national contractor.
2008
Opened its first UK office in London after securing two CCGT power station projects with Siemens.
2010
Kirby secures its first project for Sanofi Aventis in France.
2012
Completed its largest project to date, valued at €46 million with over 700,000 manhours.
2015
Reached €150 million annual turnover and secured its first project in the Nordics.
2018
Expanded its operations in the Nordics by completing a number of large-scale data centre projects.
2020
Delivered a number of hyper-scale data centre projects and reached €293 million annual turnover.
2021
Reached €400 million annual turnover with 1,300 direct employees and over 2,500 people deployed across Ireland, UK and mainland Europe.
Taoiseach, Micheál Martin TD alongside our Group Managing Director Mark Flanagan announced the creation of 300 new jobs plus a €2m investment in Kirby’s Limerick HQ.
Opened its Gävle office in Sweden.
2023
Officially opened its first office outside of Europe in Cape Town, South Africa.
Reached €636 million annual turnover with 1,500 direct employees and over 3,000 people deployed across Ireland, UK and mainland Europe.
