PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Kirby was responsible for the delivery of full MEP services for a new 4MW Tier III data centre facility in West Dublin. The project involved the construction of a single storey data centre with services above and plant at roof level, an ESB substation as well as a three-storey office block.
The project was fully coordinated through the implementation and use of BIM. The design teams delivered a level 2 model which Kirby developed and built to level 4. Kirby assisted the main contractor in the development and implementation of a BIM execution plan. The use of BIM enabled Kirby to manufacture all of the chilled water pipework and plant skids off-site, which then enabled Kirby to reduce the installation time on-site and ensured the construction program was achieved on time.
