PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Kirby was responsible for the civil and electrical balance of plant works for a new build battery energy storage system at the Port of Tilbury.

This project included the design, supply and installation of the 11kV main switchgear board and all associated control and protection panels, the installation of a new protection panel in the existing 11kV Tilbury North substation, installation of RMU’s, 11/0.40 kV step-up transformers, PCS’s (inverters) and battery containers and monitoring system throughout the Port of Tilbury site 11kV and LV connection to the entry point of the existing Tilbury North 11kV substation. Kirby also installed a local power distribution unit to distribute the above.
